Singapore Airshow 2014

Earlier in Feburary, I spent a day at the Singapore Airshow which is an annual event

It was my first time there and I was in awe at the displays! The Airshow is held annually for trade visitors and exhibitors. 2 days are reserved for the public and tickets are usually snapped up really quickly - especially for Saturday.

The day started off really early with me dragging my wearisome self out of bed and to the end of the island. We made it just in time to find a decent spot to catch the first air performance of the day.

First up are the RSAF Black Knights.

My favourite part of the show was when they created this heart in the sky in lieu of a belated Valentine's day. There were other showcases from the US and Australia.

Once the performance concluded, we headed into the air con comforts to cool down and check out what companies in the air industry had to show off. First off on the list, was Airbus!
We got to see Royce Rolls new engine for the A350 and I was really impressed. Here's hoping that the A350 gets certified to fly soon!

Once we finished scouring the insides, it was time to head back into the sun. Some of the private planes on display had me dreaming impossible dreams.

The US Air Force was one of the feature countries. We queued for almost TWO hours just to get to a look at the interior workings of Air Force One. I got sunburnt while waiting to enter this plane.
Originally thought that the planes were flown here from the US, but it turns out that the planes are from the US unit stationed in Japan. Especially like how the US Air Force guys allowed us to get down into the bombardier area to experience how its like. (It was really comfy too.)

We ended off the day with a gravity defying performance by the Korean Black Eagles. The ease and grace in which they took charge of the skies was spell binding. Eyes trained on the machines in the sky, with your ears rumbling, the pilots manipulating the controls make it look oh-so-easy.
It was splendour in the sky. After a scorching hot day, we finally headed off for lunch at 4pm.
Mouth-watering sinful Bak Chor Mee at Bedok closed off a day well spent.
Needless to say, I crashed the moment I got home.
