Travelogue - Taiwan Day 3 - Beitou, Taipei

Day 3 of Taiwan! We headed up to Beitou to try out the hot springs. Beitou is supposedly the uprising place where many expats stay. Its easy to get into central Taipei via the trains, and yet quiet enough if you're looking for some peace and quiet.

We decided to explore a little of Beitou before heading to the hot springs. And I must say, it's a quaint little town. I particularly love the library there! It was designed by a Japanese architect, and has a very zen feel to it. So relaxing!

After chancing upon this stream which flows down from the source of all the hot spring water, we decided to be all adventurous and climb down to soak our feet in it. It wasn't long before we were climbing over rocks like monkeys.
We ended off our day with what else, food. We first headed further up to Tsam Tsui (DamShui), to check out the old street and sea view. I love the fried mushrooms there! After snacking, we headed off to Shilin Night Market for some shopping, and yes, more eating.

All you'll ever do in Taiwan is eat to your hearts content. Each and every night market has something different to offer! So make sure you do your research before heading out. :)
