Travelogue - Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber

Fairy Tale Town was the first thought that flashed through my head when I chanced upon photos of Rothenburg. "I have to figure out how to get there" was the next though that followed. Turned out getting there from Nuremberg was a piece of cake. Hence, another day trip ensued.

Travelogue - Ireland, Cliffs of Moher

Have barely touched my Europe trip for last year and I'm already done with my second trip. Just last week, I found myself in the gorgeous country of Ireland for the last few days. Took a day trip out to the cliffs of moher and was super blessed with good weather. Aka the mo(t)her of all cliffs. Lol

Travelogue - Kutná Hora, Czech Republic

While in Prague, we took a day trip out to the town of Kutná Hora. It was a simple train ride away!
A little background information. Kutná Hora was previously a mining town. The city has now been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site because of several buildings there.
And here are some of the places I visited.

First up was Sedlec Ossuary. I unfortunately can't find the photos I took of the interior! (Do a google search!) But its a Roman Catholic church that contains up to 70,000 skeletons. While a little daunting to be inside, it's definitely worth a visit.
However, I did manage to find a picture I took of the cemetery behind the church.

Travelogue - Taiwan, Day 7 (Fo Guang Shang Monastery)

Back with yet another day trip out of Kaohsiung. We took a bus out of the city to Fo Guang Shan Monastery. I found it really interesting to just soak in the sights and atmosphere of the monastery. It was a real change from the cathedrals I had visited in Europe. I found the buddha statues really (for lack of a better word) extravagant. The monastery was peaceful and calming, set atop a hill.

Travelogue - Taiwan Day 3 - Beitou, Taipei

Day 3 of Taiwan! We headed up to Beitou to try out the hot springs. Beitou is supposedly the uprising place where many expats stay. Its easy to get into central Taipei via the trains, and yet quiet enough if you're looking for some peace and quiet.

We decided to explore a little of Beitou before heading to the hot springs. And I must say, it's a quaint little town. I particularly love the library there! It was designed by a Japanese architect, and has a very zen feel to it. So relaxing!

Travelogue - Taiwan Day 2, Taipei Day Trip

Day 2 of Taiwan saw us taking a day trip out of Taipei. We decided to spend the day exploring northern regions of Taipei.  Our first stop was Jiufen to explore some mouth-watering Taiwanese delights. We took a train down to RuiFang, and headed on to Jiufen by bus.

We were immediately greeted by this lovely view upon alighting.

Travelogue - Venice, Italy

Needless to say, I was brimming with excitement about going to Venice. To ride on a gondola along the many canals, weaving through buildings and under bridges. To get lost in the maze that is Venice, winding through narrow paths and into little alleys. To admire the many masks and costumes, and the breath-taking scenery that this city has to offer. To walk through San Marco Square and admire the rich history of Venice.

Travelogue - Liege, Belgium

Since going on exchange, I have been to Liege countless times. To change trains. Most people would probably know Liege as the town with the modern, artsy design train station.

It was awhile into my exchange before some of us realised that there was a flea market in the little town Liege. And that hey, it was suppose to be one of Europe's longest flea markets. Hence the day trip to explore this little town began.
