Travelogue - Munich, Neuschwanstein Castle

Visited Europe in October and fell in love with Bavaria. I've already mentally listed out the next few places in Bavaria that I definitely want to visit.

On one of the days, we took a day trip to see the acclaims Neuschwanstein Castle and the town it resides in. I can see why the castle in Sleeping Beauty was inspired by this.

We had an early morning start on the train to make our way to Fussen before changing to a bus that would bring us to the town of Schwangau.  Majority of the people on the train were heading in the same direction so it wasn't too hard to figure it out.

It was SO foggy when we got there. Schwangau is a really quaint town. The buildings all have a whimsical romantic feel to them. Throw in a little fog.. it's like wonderland.

First stop of the day was the Hohenschwangau Castle - the childhood home of King Ludwig II. Smaller in scale, but no less grand. We were lucky enough to be able to get a slot for an English guided tour. It's better to book your tickets online if you can! We decided to try our luck on the day itself as the weather was up and down during the period I was in Munich.

We had a little time in between castle tours to explore the small town.

Autumn left me blown away with the wide array of colours the leaves took on. It's officially my favourite season.

And last but not least, the highlight of this town - Neuschwanstein. The castle was never finished but the room that were completed are astounding. It's a pity really that we couldn't get to explore the whole castle as it looks HUGE from the outside.

I wonder how it feels like to live in such a large place. Imagine playing hide and seek.
